Chris Hill has a deep desire for social justice and a passion for the outdoors. She has been an avid adventurer since she was young, engaging in backpacking, climbing and snowboarding, and has since picked up the passion for fly fishing. As an environmental lobbyist for the past decade and currently Campaign Director for the Sierra Club, Chris’ desire for a just, equitable and sustainable future, one in which all people benefit from clean air, clean water and have access to the outdoors is rooted in community-based organizing.
Sammy is a Golden Retriever that loves everything outside, just like Chris. Chris got Sammy at 8 weeks old in the summer of 2020. Sammy is a super athletic, agile, funny, and smart puppy who loves everyone and has no personal space.
When Chris isn't working, you can find the two of them out adventuring together on the river fly fishing, hiking or camping for the weekend. The two live in Haines, AK.

“ My dog always brings the joy out of me, makes me find joy while we are adventuring, even when it sucks. My dog shows me that life is full of joy, everywhere, just find it. ”
