Katie Boué is an Cuban-American outdoor advocate and writer who lives in Salt Lake City–though you're more likely to find her and her adopted adventure mutt Spaghetti out adventuring in the desert. A former stray on the streets of Las Vegas, Spaghetti now spends her days sunning outside, and uses the outdoors as a confidence-builder to help her overcome her separation anxiety after her rough start in life. Along with Katie's partner, professional ski mountaineer Brody Leven, this little family of outdoorists loves to hit the road in their 1993 Mitsubishi Delica van to camp, climb, hike, paddle and explore. Katie is the founder of the Outdoor Advocacy Project, a community education initiative seeking to inspire and empower the next generation of outdoor advocates. Spaghetti is named for her human's favorite breakfast food.

“ My dogs remind me to take advantage of each day and every opportunity. We feel most alive when we escape into the wilderness! To me, they represent freedom, love and authenticity. ”
